This cabin was inhabited by three generations with no apparent improvements. Contrast it with what the Jarrell's achieved in three generations. (May 13th post.)	A bit difficult to see because of the sun's angle while we were there, this is a dog-trot cabin. The darker space behind the third porch post is an opening that separates the left and right enclosed sections. It's said to keep the living space (right section) cooler by separating it from the kitchen space (left section). We wonder if that might be a liability in winter.
This is a grist mill said to be in working order if it had a source of water for the wheel (not seen on the left side).	A smoke house.
